Our University is a Polish state university with a Catholic tradition and spirituality. Its patron is Blessed Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński (1901-1981), a former Archbishop of Warsaw and Primate of Poland.
The University consists of 12 Faculties, located in three campuses: at Dewajtis street in Warsaw, at Wóycickiego street in Warsaw, and in Dziekanów Leśny close to Warsaw. Students can choose from 45 majors, including: theology, sustainability study, law, medicine, psychology, journalism, Italian philology or economics.
Four „canonical” Faculties (Theology, Christian Philosophy, Canon Law, and Family Studies) are under the supervision of both the Polish state and the Catholic Church. Therefore, the academic grades and titles obtained at these Faculties are recognized by both the Polish state (and consequently, by many other states in the world) and the Catholic Church.
For practical information concerning studying at our University, go to the UKSW website Studies in English.
Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw (UKSW) offers bachelor’s, engineering, master’s and postgraduate studies in both Polish and English. The University also has a doctoral school which provides education in 12 disciplines. Students have the opportunity to go, through foreign scholarships, to over 300 universities in Europe as part of the Erasmus+ programme and, through national scholarships, to 19 Polish universities as part of the MOST programme.
The university has highly recognized academic teachers, who each year receive prestigious awards and distinctions for their scientific and research activities. They are representatives of the highest committees of scientific bodies, state authorities and business councils. UKSW experts are regularly invited to contribute to national TV and radio stations. Our University has received the Polish Intelligent Development 2020 award in the category of University of the Future.
The university has a variety of scientific and educational facilities. Classes are held in modern campuses in Warsaw at Wóycickiego and Dewajtis streets. In recent years, the University has been rapidly transforming into a modern scientific and research centre. Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University established the Mazovian Laboratory Centre of Natural Sciences in 2016. Practical classes for science and medical students are held in dozens of research laboratories and in rooms for conceptual work. We create a modern environment for talent development.
In addition to our cutting-edge laboratories, we have a large sports hall and a recording studio. Spacious lecture halls are equipped with advanced audiovisual technology. Everything has been designed to increase the effectiveness and performance of classes.
We are a university close to nature, so we take special care of what surrounds us. For many years we have been conducting research and scientific projects in ecology and environmental engineering. On our campus, there is a METEO field station, thanks to which we measure the occurrence of PM2.5 and PM10 suspended particles.
